7XBLSD taken!
“A” and “S”,
I am hoping you two may be able to help with any connections that you have made with other families through the adoption process. Katya is looking for a host family, who can also be her forever family, for this June-July.
Since Katya’s visit with us this Christmas, a lot more has been learned about her past. Her paternal grandmother raised her from birth. Katya’s biological mother did not want her and her father had TB so grandma did not want him to be around Katya for fear she would also get sick (she was a preemie). Katya’s grandmother is no longer able to care for her and sent her to the orphanage so she could go to school. She very much wants Katya to be adopted into a loving family.
Odessa is allowing Katya to come to the states one more time - this June.
We love her very much. Of course ”D” and I have had many conversations about adopting, but it all boils down to finding a family that is ready for a 7 year old. We will bend over backwards to get someone more info about her and to talk about our time with her.
Please pass this on to anyone who may be interested and is serious about adopting!
Thanks!
“L”
This email still brings tears to my eyes as I see the sovereign hand of God at work, the beautiful obedient heart of ”D”and “L” to care for Katya yet know what was not for them, and the way God used “S” to forward this email on to a mom whose life was already full.
On May 7th, Bill said, “Go for it!” That day we brought this possibility to the people we pray with weekly. One of the guys said, “Cindy, you’ll have to get a new license plate.” My plate says, “6XBLSD.” Well, on the way home from praying, a van passed us with this license plate, “7XBLESD.” Such sweetness! God doesn’t have to do things like this, but sometimes He does and it makes me smile. Not only is God the reigning King of kings, but He is also my personal, intimate, Savior who draws me to Himself with cords of lovingkindness and invites me to join with Him to bring about His purposes in the world. I love Him!
So, to celebrate the work that we accomplished in less than a week, I checked out license plates. But, tragedy of tragedies, 7XBLSD is taken. So, here are some possibilities the kids and I have come up with:
ALLRS7X
ALLDPTD
HEADCT 7
EVRY1RS
7FINKDZ
A11OURS
COUNTN 7
OURKDZ 7
Can you figure these out? What’s your favorite? Can you come up with more? Go to VALicensePlate and see if it’s available and leave me a comment..
Who said the adoption process has to be all work? Not us!
Cindy,
Reid Lancaster sent me your blog and I was able to sit down and read your story of Katya this morning. Your family is such and inspiration. I loved reading what your kids wrote. I did go to the Va license plate site and these were available:
WELUV7
WELOVE7
BLESDW7
GODGAV7
I pray that in 2009 Katya becomes a permanent part of your family.

What an awesome story…and I love the license plate idea!
I like BLESDW7. We’ll be praying for things to go smoothly for you and that you’ll have Katya home soon.

Hi Alice! So glad Reid passed this on! I LOVE your license plate suggetions. I can reserve one 90 days out, so once we get our appointment I’ll probably go ahead and put one on hold. But, your great ideas will make it harder!
Thanks so much, Tami for your encouragement and prayers. My mother’s heart SO longs for her to be here!
i love your blog, great !
I am very envious of your blog.
